On the way he is joined by a woman, Chung, and a mysterious child – but others are following him with hostile intent. A trippy western with stunning locations where Tibetan esotericism and customs mesmerise the audience, recounting Tibet's passage into modernity with magic realism.

A butterfly settles in the crosshairs of the killer Hanada - a butterfly just like those collected by Misako, the woman who commissioned the hit that he fails to carry out. Was it the insect that caused him to botch the job or was it his love for her? But the rules are clear: failure means death. From bad boy director Seijun Suzuki, a Dadaist and experimental noir which created a new aesthetic and a masterpiece of the absurd that has bewitched directors like Jarmusch and Tarantino.

Teiichi would do anything to become prime minister, but his career has to start in his school: an institute for the children of the privileged and a springboard to politics. Manipulative and opportunistic, he initially joins forces with the bully Himuro only to abandon him when his importance as school rep fades. A ferocious satire of politics, a corrosive black comedy and a dark school story: from a famous manga comes a biting movie that screams ‘cult’!

    Erik Matti
    2016, Philippines
Matti’s big score! Four novices go on a spiritual retreat while a priest investigates the miracles performed by little Anghela - if they are found to be true, she will be canonized as a living saint. Anghela is transferred to the same building as the novices, who are tormented by demonic hallucinations, and suspicion that Anghela’s powers may be evil starts to mount. A theological horror film which looks into the unconscious of belief and which is as ambiguous and disturbing as its impressive protagonist.
