FEFF20 - Focus Asia 2018
One week left to submit your project!

After the success of the 1st edition, FEFF20 will again host Focus Asia – from 25th to 27th April -  the project market dedicated to genre cinema: “tomorrow’s films”, which have strong co-production and co-financing potential in Europe and Asia. March 4th is the deadline to submit your own project (bit.ly/FEFFprojectmarket2018). The 12 selected projects will then be presented to over 200 industry professionals, within a program that will feature panels, one-to-one meetings, screenings and networking moments.

During the 2017 edition, two projects (Abracadabra directed by Faozan Rizal, Indonesia/France, and The Long Walk directed by Mattie Do, Laos/France) found a financing partner (Singapore’s Aurora Media) here in Udine, while numerous other projects were selected by important international markets after their respective presentations in Udine: to name a few, Dain Iskandar Said’s Vektor (Malaysia), produced by Nandita Solomon at NAFF of Bucheon IFFF, Danilo Bećković’s Trials of Chul (Serbia) at the latest edition of the Galway Film Fair in Ireland, Santiago Alvarado’s 30 Thousand Kicks, produced by Joaquim Vivas (Spain) at The Crouching Tigers Project Lab of the International Film Festival & Awards in Macao.

4 leading genre cinema professionals have been appointed to form the selection committee: Thomas Jongsuk Nam of Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Bucheon, South Korea), Sten Saluveer of Black Nights Film Festival - Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event (Tallinn, Estonia), Mike Hostench of Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (Sitges, Spanish State) and Valeria Richter of Nordic Genre Boost (Oslo, Norway).
The Project Market is organised by Centro Espressioni Cinematografiche/Far East Film Festival (Udine) with the collaboration of the Friuli Venezia Giulia Audiovisual Fund and with the support of: Direzione Generale per il Cinema – MiBACT, Istituto Luce, Ministry of Economic Development, ITA - Italian Trade Agency, the Autonomous Region of Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Comune di Udine.
