Call for entries for FOCUS ASIA - All Genres Project Market 2018

The Far East Film Festival (FEFF) is the biggest Festival in Europe entirely dedicated to popular Asian Cinema. During the 9 Festival days more than 80 movies from the “Far East” are screened in Udine.
After co-organizing for many years the TIES THAT BIND Asia Europe Producers Workshop, FEFF launched FOCUS ASIA, an Industry section dedicated to the genre decision makers and film professionals from Europe and Asia.

After the successful 2017 edition, FOCUS ASIA launches the second edition of the project market dedicated to all genres projects with strong co-production or co-financing potential with Asia or Europe. The main goal is to establish new strong connections between the two continents already in the development phase, bringing together high quality projects, key players and financiers from both film industries.

The next edition of FOCUS ASIA (April 25-27, 2018) will bring together in Udine over 200 film professionals from all over the world and in particular from Europe and Asia. FOCUS ASIA will select around 12 projects currently in development with co-production or co-financing potential either with European or Asian Countries.

The second edition of FOCUS ASIA has the honour to confirm the partnership with the most important genre festival professionals, involved in the projects and decision makers selection: Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (Bucheon, South Korea), Black Nights Film Festival - Industry@Tallinn & Baltic Event (Tallinn, Estonia), Sitges International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia (Sitges, Spanish State) and the Nordisk Film & Fond’s Nordic Genre Boost (Oslo, Norway).

- Projects must be genre long feature fiction films in their development stage
- Projects from Europe with co-production or co-financing potential with Asia
- Projects from Asia with co-production or co-financing potential with Europe
- Projects from other countries with co-production or co-financing potential with Europe or Asia
- Application materials must be in English

All applications must include: complete online application form, treatment (max 5-8 pages), financing plan, teaser of the submitted project or previous works of the director.

Selected projects will be announced after 20th March 2018.

FOCUS ASIA’s selected producers are invited to attend the event and will be given the opportunity of having meetings with investment, production, or distribution companies from both Asia and Europe.
Producers will be offered up to 3 nights’ accommodation in Udine.
A limited number of partial travel scholarships are available in specific cases.
