Miu Kam-fung (Seven Women)

In the prologue, the main character addresses the audience talking about her double status of actress and housewife. Kam-fung has a husband who obsessively listens to Western music (from Beethoven to the “Internationale” and pop), buys luxury cars, reads articles on topics like abortion, marriage and violence against women, and has a relationship with Maryann, one of his wife’s friends. The wife knows nothing about it (or pretends not to know), until Maryann informs her. Kam-fung continues to act as if she knew nothing about that. Maryann dies in an accident and both husband and wife react with indifference. But when the husband brings home a new friend, Emma, Kam-fung reacts by compulsively filling the fridge with food.
