999 – 9999

Horror is one of the most hitting genres in Thai cinema. And it is no surprise that the first-time director Peter Manus began his directorial debut on this popular genre. Manus followed his other TV commercial colleagues who boosted into the recent success trend of Thai cinema. A group of young students get together for a bit of fun by exploring the forbidden regardless of the consequences. When a new classmate, Bow, comes into their school, another more fun is awaiting for them. She tells the club of a telephone number 999-9999, which if called after midnight, will grant whatever they wish. But they have to trade something. And the telephone terror sucks them in. Manus did a good time in his starting point. Though the plot and storyline are a bit too predictable, the director was pretty much to enjoy hilariously on the experiments of camera uses - extremely low angle and bird eye-views. Colours are also highly contrast to reflect the contradicting lives of the youth. Scores and music also move you into heart beats.
