JURY MEMBERS

Vanja Kaludjercic

Vanja Kaludjercic was appointed Festival Director of International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) as of February 2020. In this role, Kaludjercic represents the artistic voice of IFFR, one of the largest audience and industry-driven film festivals in the world, that champions great cinema and actively supports independent filmmaking talent.
Kaludjercic drives IFFR’s curatorial line as well as its industry developments to futureproof the festival. Under her leadership the festival made the bold decision to expand its 50th anniversary across multiple months to weather the many challenges presented by the Covid-19 health crisis.
Kaludjercic brings a wealth of 20 years of industry experience, both on an international scale and within the Dutch film landscape. She was previously the director of acquisitions at global streaming service MUBI, and had prior roles at Les Arcs European Film Festival, Sarajevo Film Festival, Netherlands Film Festival (NFF) and IFFR itself, where she established the IFFR Talks & Masterclasses from 2016 to 2018. Kaludjercic has served as a jury member at Berlinale, International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam (IDFA), CPH:DOX and many more festivals around the globe.

The Far East Film Festival has always held a special place in my heart, ever since visiting it for the first time as a 20-year-old wanting to be a film professional. With its fun-filled rollercoaster ride programming and relentless dedication to Asian cinema, the festival is very much in the spirit of what we do at the International Film Festival Rotterdam. As a jury member of the  White Mulberry Award I very much look forward to seeing a wide range of works by emerging voices that together will shape the cinematic landscape in the years to come.

Manetti bros.

Both directors and screenwriters, Antonio and Marco Manetti made their directorial debut in 1995 with the short film Consegna a domicilio, an episode of the film De Generazione. Their first feature film, Torino Boys, produced by Marco and Piergiorgio Bellocchio, was made in 1997. It was presented at the Locarno Film Festival and then at the Turin Film Festival, where it received a Special Mention from the Jury. In 2000 they released Zora the Vampire (with Carlo Verdone and Micaela Ramazzotti), followed by, among other works, Floor 17 (with Giampaolo Morelli), Paura (with Francesca Cuttica and Peppe Servillo) and The Arrival of Wang (with Francesca Cuttica and Ennio Fantastichini) which was selected for the Venice Film Festival in the competitive section Controcampo Italiano.
In 2013, the film Song 'e Napule (with Alessandro Roia, Giampaolo Morelli and Serena Rossi), presented at the Rome International Film Festival, was met with unanimous acclaim from critics and audiences alike. In 2017 the film Ammore e malavita (with Giampaolo Morelli, Serena Rossi, Claudia Gerini, Carlo Buccirosso and Raiz) was presented in competition at the Venice Film Festival and picked up numerous awards, including the David di Donatello for Best Film.
Their highly anticipated Diabolik, a film adaptation of the adventures of the character created by Angela and Luciana Giussani, starring Luca Marinelli, Miriam Leone and Valerio Mastandrea, was released in December 2021.
Also involved in directing for TV, the two brothers are behind, among others, the cult series L’ispettore Coliandro
Active in web production, they have directed over a hundred video clips for some of the most famous faces in Italian music.
Along with Carlo Macchitella and the German colossus Beta Film, they founded Mompracem, a production company whose mission is to give visibility to emerging young directors and to create projects that blend entertainment and quality.

We are very glad to be part of the White Mulberry Award Jury this year as we have always been passionate about Asian cinema and it’s a great pleasure for us to watch some films of emerging directors coming from the Far East world. We feel very honoured to have the chance to choose a winner and even more we look forward to being in Udine to hug all our friends of the Cinema Visionario.
