Focus Asia 2018

25/26/27 april 2018 – Udine

The Far East Film Festival has been happy to welcome to Udine the 150 international, Asian and Italian film industry professionals that have taken part in FOCUS ASIA 2018.
After the big success of the second edition in 2017 with the launch of the first all genres project market dedicated to projects with co-production or co-financing potential in Asia or Europe, FOCUS ASIA renewed its programme and launched new exciting initiatives for film professionals from both sides of the world.

Along with the project market, where 14 selected teams from 12 different countries have had the opportunity to meet with leading decision makers, producers and financiers, FOCUS ASIA 2018 has included a rich programme of panels and case studies on the most recent trends and challenges of the international film industry. From a specific focus on distribution in the fragmented Asian landscape and the massive rise of TV series in both continents, to the vast opportunities for remakes and product placement.

FOCUS ASIA 2018 has also featured a brand new initiative called Get Ready for Cannes, where a fine selection of international sales agents from all over the world had the opportunity, showing trailers and short clips, to introduce their most recent line up – in particular their upcoming market screenings for Cannes - to all Asian and European attending buyers.

The programme has kept the same philosophy as the previous year: encouraging creative and artistic co-productions and facilitating the distribution of all genres films in both the Asian and European markets.
