JAPANESE CELEBRITY MEGUMI WILL BE ON THE FEFF 27 JURY!

The founder of Japan Night will be voting for the best debut film of 2025.

Far East Film Festival 27
: the jurors have their say! Who votes to crown the three best films, the best screenplay and the best debut film? On the one hand we must remember, as always, the Udine festival's deeply democratic vocation: it's the public and the public alone who decide who will climb the winners' podium. And the three titles with the most votes, chosen from the 49 in competition this year (the line-up has a total of 77 films), will win the Golden Mulberry, the Silver Mulberry and the Crystal Mulberry “by popular vote”. But there will also be two specialist juries made up of respected film industry professionals.

While the Mulberry for best screenplay will once again be selected by the three jurors of the "Sergio Amidei" Gorizia International Award for Best Screenplay, namely screenwriter Massimo Gaudioso (Matteo Garrone's historic collaborator), screenwriter Silvia D'Amico and director Francesco Munzi, the jury for the White Mulberry for best debut film will be made up of Kim Yutani (programmer of the Sundance Film Festival), Sakoda Shinji (international film representative) and, to the delight of her admirers, Japanese celebrity Megumi.

Actress, pop idol, producer and successful entrepreneur, 1981-born Megumi can count on a loyal fandom of over 700,000 followers and has recently linked her name to the glories of Japan Night: the most glittering social event of the last Cannes Film Festival, which a lucky few will also be able to experience at the Far East Film Festival.

"I am truly honoured and excited to be part of the FEFF jury," says Megumi, "and I am equally excited to bring my Japan Night to Udine for the first time. I will be showcasing Japanese films and culture to people from all over the world, and at the same time will be celebrating the signing of a film co-production agreement between Italy and Japan."
